Research Policies


1. Improving and expanding applied and strategic studies in order to provide software and planning infrastructures which are demand-orientated, mission-orientated and up-to-date researches;

2. Supporting research activities according to thinking, social and cultural requirements of the world of Islam;

3. Building bridges between Iran’s Islamic schools (Hawzah), specially the Hawzah Ilmiyyah Qum, and the world scientific arenas, especially that of the world of Islam;

4. Setting arrangement for theorisation chairs and exchange of ideas;

5. Making arrangement of and participation in holding international scientific conferences and seminars;

6. Paying attention to scientific arena in virtual and media spaces.

7. Reinforcing information elicitation by improving and expanding the information centre, publication of magazines, scientific societies, specialised libraries, comprehensive library of non-Iranian scholars, specialised international library, database for Islamic researchers and translators worldwide and exhibition of their works;

8. Making efforts for identification of scientific research institutes, elites and scholars, and communicating and cooperating with them;

9. Expanding research programs and activities to the abroad units and to graduates and creating research based institutes;

10. International, contextual, scientific and formal expansion (attendance and non-attendance);

11. Defining directions of researches during training;

12. Deepening and developing the spirit of thinking and research among students, graduates and their families and making efforts for training high-level international researchers in various specializations;

13. Developing and reinforcing regional researches and deepening of understanding of cultures and civilizations in order to achieve regional strategies

14. Making efforts for granting internships to elites and professors of international scientific institutes;

15. Providing scientific and educational support to the professors of religious schools and hawzas all over the world.

Al-Mustafa International Award

Honoring the status of science and scientists, is among the teachings of the religion that has been emphasized on in the Holy Qur’an and narratives of the infallibles. In the Islamic hawzahs, the scholars and experts with their immaculate intentions and indefatigable sublime spirit, make constant efforts to propagate the pure Islamic sciences, while many of them have remained anonymous or have not been introduced to the world in a manner they deserve. Therefore, bringing such sages and experts into the limelight and honoring their valuable services, is a responsibility of hawzas and scientific and cultural institutions.

norder to identify the high ranking and effective scholars of the world and honoring their valuable services and activities, Al-Mustafa University, which is a scientific institution and a hawza with a great responsibility on an international level, holds an annual international conference under the title of “Al-Mustafa International Award”, in which the enduring figures of hawza are honored and awarded.

Research Collaborations

Optimum utilization of facilities, capacities and increasing research collaborations with world education and research centres in their subjects of interest, are among the fundamental methods for stable scientific expansion.

One of the research policies of Al-Mustafa University is utilization of this method for successful fulfillment of its duties and achieving goals. The most important subjects in collaboration with educational and research centres of the world are:

1. Establishment of shared research unit on subjects of mutual concern and interest, such as comparative studies;

2. Identification and introduction of specialists and researchers who can fulfil the needs of both sides;

3. Support and preparation for utilization of both sides’ spaces and hardware and software facilities in research arena; 

4. Admission of the eligible persons of the two sides for internship programs;

5. Exchange of resources, books, documents and specialised scientific data (books, specialised journals, articles, theses, software, etc…)

6. Collaborationfor participation in scientific gatherings of each other’s home country;

7. Collaborationin holding mutual scientific research seminars and conferences.

8. Collaborationin translation and publication of scientific research books and articles.

9. Collaborationin undertaking joint research projects.
